Starting today, from 6-15 July 2021, the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF)<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>on Sustainable Development will take place virtually and will be more accessible than ever before to support building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda<\/span><\/a><\/span> in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development. Governments, UN agencies, and civil society will come together to discuss the achievements that have been made towards Agenda 2030.
This year, 43 countries are expected to present voluntary national reviews<\/span><\/span><\/a> on their progress towards the SDGs<\/span><\/span><\/a>. The new book project will offer promising \u2018roads\u2019 to those that prepare principals and teachers on the impact that the education process has in developing individuals for sustainable communities. This call is international in scope using as a baseline leader and teacher standards found in the U.S. and countries that imported a standards approach; UNESCO resources for educators who prepare the principals and teachers; the European Union approach to sustainable goals across 27 countries; and all relevant tools professors can and should be using in their preparation programs. We believe this can only happen by creating new learning processes within preparation programs so that education systems can be better equipped to shape the citizens of tomorrow. The book will be published through the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership’s book program<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

The World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC)<\/span><\/a><\/span> is the largest international congress addressing education for environment and sustainable development, worldwide since 2003. Next year\u00b4s event will be held in a hybrid approach online and on-site in Prague (Czech Republic) on 14-18 March 2022.
It will focus on how environmental and an education for sustainability can contribute to connect the people and the planet. How can we support a more sustainable, equitable way of being in the world? IAU SDG 4 Cluster<\/span><\/a> <\/span>members Heila Lotz-Sisitka<\/span><\/a><\/span> (Rhodes University, South Africa) and Jana Dlouh\u00e1<\/span><\/a><\/span> (Charles University, Czech Republic) will be involved as speakers\/chairs.

The Roadmap for the RCE Community 2021\u20132030<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> serves to guide the RCE community\u2019s collective actions towards the SDGs<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> and the ESD<\/span> for 2030 Roadmap<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> at local, national and global levels during the period 2021-2030. UNESCO\u2019s Global Education Coalition<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is a multi-sector coalition to protect the right to education during unprecedented disruption from response to recovery. It was launched at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to support learning continuity, and has prioritized Africa<\/span><\/span> <\/a><\/span>in its operations. Today, the Coalition is working in 39 countries in Africa on 66 projects and with an additional 38 projects currently in discussion.
