  1. In order to enhance students’ ability to think philosophically, National Taiwan Normal University (hereinafter referred to as “the University”) establishes the Program in Philosophy (hereinafter referred to as “the Program”) in accordance with the Key Points of the University’s Credit Program. The Program is organized by the College of Liberal Arts.
  2. Students who are enrolled in various departments (institutes) of the National Taiwan University System and are not recent graduates are eligible to apply for the Program during their enrollment in the University.
  3. The Program is based on the accreditation system. Students who have completed relevant courses after registration may apply for the issuance of a certificate for the Program. The registration process will take place in the second semester of each academic year and the registration schedule will be announced by the Office of Academic Affairs.
  4. A minimum of 16 credits are required for the Program, half of which must be in subjects other than those taken from the student’s own department (institute), auxiliary department, or other programs. For course information, please refer to the Curriculum of the Program in Philosophy.
  5. Students who have passed the same or similar subjects as those in the Program may be credited after examination and approval by the program, but the maximum number of credits to be credited is 10. The subjects that have been passed in the Program may be counted as elective credits by the original department (institute).
  6. Students who are registered in the Program and are qualified to graduate from the department (institution) they are enrolled in but who have not yet completed all the subjects and credits of the Program may apply for an extension of their studies in accordance with the regulations; otherwise, they are considered to have forfeited their qualifications for the Program; however, if they are admitted to a master’s or doctoral program at a school in Taiwan University System, they may apply to continue the Program after admission.
  7. Students who have completed the subjects and credits stipulated in the Program may submit their applications and transcripts from previous years to the Office of Academic Affairs for the issuance of a certificate for the Program after the organizer has examined them.
  8. Students should pay the credit fee for the Program in accordance with the regulations.
  9. All matters not stipulated in the Directions shall be handled in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the University.
  10. The Directions shall be implemented after they are approved by the Academic Affairs Meeting; the same shall apply to amendments.
