Scopus, the world-renowned journal analysis and documentation library, organized the ‘Scopus and Strategy for Improving Visibility Forum’ at the GIS TAIPEI TECH Convention Center on November 16th, under the arrangement of Elsevier. The awarding ceremony was held for Journals being collected from June 2014 to June 2016. Two journals from the English Department was given the award, respectively, Concentric: Studies in Linguistics and English Teaching and Learning.
The lecture introduces the application and review process for Scopus, the journal review case analysis. Large data analysis cited rate was used to improve the quality of the journal. Professor Chen Chun Yin from the English Department is also invited to talk about “Journal Development Strategy from a University Ranking Perspective”.
Scopus is the largest database of abstracts and citations of peer-reviewed studies, containing more than 20,000 publications from over 5,000 international publishers, as well as journals in non-English-speaking languages. It not only provides researchers with a fast, convenient and comprehensive Resources, but is also the best platform for us to enhance Taiwan’s international visibility.
In the meantime, the awarding ceremony of the new and accepted journals from June 2014 to June 2016 was held. A total of 10 journals were accepted. Prof. Chen Hao Jan and Prof. Chen Chun Yin respectively received the award on behalf of English Teaching and Learning and Concentric: Studies in Linguistics’. English Teaching and Learning was accepted by Scopus in August 2015, this journal mainly is about f empirical research on English teaching and learning at home and abroad. ‘Concentric circles: linguistics’ was accepted in July 2014 and is about linguistic analysis and application of related papers for the purpose. It is also an ESCI journal.
