College-Level Spring Semester 2024 Outbound Exchange Selection

All applicants shall fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Students pursuing Undergraduate, Masters or Doctorates Programs at the College of Liberal Arts who have completed at least one full year of academic study (excluding students from the Continuing Education or Part-time programs)
  2. Satisfy the language proficiency requirements and other applicable admission criteria as required by partner universities.
  3. Mainland China students, Overseas Chinese students, and International Students are not allowed to apply to partner universities from their country of origin or residence.
  4. International students who have received Taiwan MOE scholarships are ineligible to apply; International students who have received NTNU scholarships will have their scholarships automatically suspended for the period on exchange.

Applicants shall submit the following documents and information to the College of Liberal Arts:

Section A: Documents required in Chinese

  • Application Checklist
  • Application Form
  • Autobiography (1000 Words and above)
  • Study Plan for Exchange Program (No required format, 1000 words and above; to include motivations for going on the exchange program, proposed course selection list and credit transfer plan when back in NTNU, etc.)
  • Official Transcript from previous semesters and Overall Level and Class Ranking Slip from the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Photocopied documents of proof of club activities or outstanding performances in School activities.
  • Satisfy all admission requirements of the applicable partner university, and shall provide photocopies of the required language proficiency certificates (To submit the original together for vetting purposes during submission).
  • MOE Teacher scholarship recipients to provide a copy of “Letter of Guarantee”.
  • All other required documents as stated in the notice for Exchange application.
  • Application Fee of NTD 500 and a copy of the successful online payment receipt.

Section B:

Application documents shall be compiled in accordance with the following format: (2) Application Form; (5) Official Transcript from previous semesters and Overall Level and Class Ranking Slip from the Office of Academic Affairs; (7) Original copy of the required language proficiency certificate and (10) Copy of the proof of payment of the NTD 500, and shall all be submitted to Office of the Vice Dean, Room “Cin 304”.

Items listed 3 to 9 as above in section A to be compiled into a single digital file in PDF format and emailed to the following address: cla_vdo@ntnu.edu.tw by May 25, 2023 (Thursday). Please specify in the email subject: “College of Liberal Arts Overseas Exchange Program Selection (Name, Department)”

Section C:

Payment for Application Fees: Payment only accepted through Online Cash System (No Cash payment allowed): (線上金流系統,Route: NTNU front page/ Students/ IPortal ). Please print out the receipt through the school system and submit the proof of payment along with your application.

Section D:

Application Due Date: 17:00, 2023/05/25 (Thu) 17:00. Applications received thereafter shall be null and void.

Section E:

In-person Interview period: An interview time slot in the afternoon shall be identified between 12th to 16th December 2022. The exact date and time will be notified via email or phone. Please ensure that you set aside the time for your interview time slot for the aforementioned period. Late-comers for your scheduled time slots will result in your spot being automatically forfeited.

Section F:

Mode of Assessment and Selection Criteria:

  • Submitted Documents: School Grades (35%), Study Plan (35%), Proof of Language Proficiency (15%), Other applicable documents (15%).
  • In-person interview: Interviews will be held by a panel of Professors. Interview assessment includes spoken language abilities, ability to properly express your study plans verbally, personal strengths, etc.
  • The review of the Submitted Document and performance during the In-person interview shall each comprise 50% of the overall evaluation. In the event of a tie between two applicants, the scores of the in-person interview will be used to determine the shortlisted applicant. Selected applicants will have to fulfill all the requirements as determined by the arrangements with the respective partner universities.

Section G:

The final list of nominees will be published on the College of Liberal Arts website after 17:00 on 3rd January 2023 (Tuesday). Nominees will have to follow the timeline stated to respond and confirm their spot for the exchange.
