【Event Hightlights】Visit by Dr. Mirjam Tröster from the Faculty of Linguistics, Cultures, and Arts at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany

On October 24th, Dr. Mirjam Tröster visited our College. She is currently the Program Coordinator for Sinology Studies and Modern East Asian Studies at the Faculty of Linguistics, Cultures, and Arts at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. During her visit, she met with our Dean,  Prof. Wen Wei Shiu, and the Vice Dean, Prof. Chiung-huei Chang, and had a fruitful discussion regarding academic and exchange collaboration.

Dr. Mirjam Troester has a strong interest in Sinophone cinema. Initially, her research was mainly on stage plays in Taiwan, which gradually expands to works in Asian cinema. Now, she is  a regular attendee at film festivals in Taiwan. During the meeting at NTNU, she shares her insights on many stage plays in Taiwan, such as those by Performance Workshop. She also provides a  unique Western perspective to compare and contrast the differences in the performances of Taiwanese stage plays in China and Taiwan.

Since 2016, our college has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) with Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. Thanks to the coordination of the teachers and faculty members of both institutions, the number of students exchanged between the two institutions is quite balanced.  We hope that the two institutions will continue this good relationship.
